Pain Management / High School Sports Injuries

Steve Kraske talks with Dr. Ann Karty of the American Academy of Family Physicians and Myra Christopher, president and CEO of the Center for Practical Bioethics about why pain is under-treated, what's being done to promote better pain management, and what treatments are currently available to help alleviate pain.

In the second portion of today's Shane Foster, head of The Barstow School, Barstow senior athlete Kenny Fox, and Dr. James Kelly of Children's Mercy Hospital discuss high school sports injuries.

We examine the school's unique partnership with Saint Luke's South Hospital to provide high school athletes with sports medicine and athletic training, discuss injuries from the students' points-of-view, and how injuries can affect younger students differently than college aged or professional athletes.
