American University anthropologist talks about Island of Shame: The Secret History of the U.S. Military Base on Diego Garcia in which he relates how in the 1970s, the U.S. conspired with the United Kingdom to forcibly relocate the population of Diego Garcia, a small archipelago near the Seychelles in the Indian Ocean, in order to build a military base. In the second part of today's program Steve Kraske welcomes American Jazz Museum CEO Greg Carroll and exhibit consultant Rodney Thompson to talk about the John Baker Film Collection and an new exhibit. Finally, Brian McTavish of KC Confidential joins Steve Kraske with Up to Date's weekend to-do list.
