How safe are the nation’s highways – and how healthy are the people on them? As the Department of Transportation reviews the thousands of regulations that govern the trucking industry, a number of new studies are examining an issue that has a great impact on highway safety: How fit are those who drive the big rigs and large trucks that rule the road? KCUR’s Bill Anderson explores the issues of health and safety facing American truck drivers, and all of us with whom they share the road.
