Kansas City is a sweet place to live--and has been for a long time. High profile candy-makers, artisan chocolatiers, and pioneering mass producers and distributors have all been part of the city's confectionery past and present. Walt Bodine and local historian and co-host Monroe Dodd unwrap the history of candy and candy-making in Kansas City. They talk with several local purveyors, and invite listeners to share their nougats, er, nuggets of nostalgia for local morsels of sugary goodness.
