Race and the Presidential Election
As part of a partnership with The Kansas City Star, Up to Date delves into the role of race in this year’s election. Two weeks ago Steve Kraske invited a diverse panel for a discussion on race, including Congressman Emmanuel Cleaver, Blue Springs Mayor Carson Ross, Jackson County Legislator Theresa Garza, UMKC senior Jumoke Balogun and KCUR’s Sylvia Maria Gross. They not only looked at the issue of race in this campaign, but also whether a generational divide exists among voters and how the American landscape could change with a win by Obama.
Today we aired portions of that discussion and invited listeners to share their comments and thoughts, too.
